REO-DEC: Dynamometer and Engine Controller


REO-DEC is the ideal Dynamometer Controller for all dynamometer types.

With high speed digital PID control,
REO-DEC offers superb control stability with ease of use and flexible design.


REO-DEC offers excellent Direct Digital Control for AC/DC Motors, Eddy Current and Hydraulic Dynamometers using advanced technologies to provide a low-cost yet flexible system.

High Precision Optical Encoders are used to provide Manual Demand Control of both the Dynamometer and Engine (Throttle/Pedal) Demands.

REO-DEC
is offered in a compact 3U high 19" Rack Mounting Enclosure. The 7" High Resolution Touch-Screen allows easy set up and monitoring of the system through a variety of easy-to-use multiple-screen displays.

The custom designed REO Backplane Interface Board (REO-BIB), simplifies the interface to both the outside world and to the I/O System inside the REO-DEC Enclosure.

The REO-DEC Back Panel provides easy connection and interfacing to the unit using standard screw-terminal connection blocks and Thermocouple connectors. All the connectors are sized differently to prevent incorrect connection.

Computer System Hardware

REO-DEC uses standard IBM based PC technology to provide a rugged and reliable hardware platform to ensure uptime of the test-bed facility. As well as the standard 7" Touch Screen, REO-DEC can also be supplied with a large external TFT screen.



Full Digital PID High Speed Control

REO (Realtime Environment for Operations) offers a powerful real-time platform that REO-DEC runs on to provide digital PID control and Datalogging.


By integrating the PID system into a single PC Platform, REO-DEC is able to offer a very rugged system architecture that allows the Engineer to take full control of the methods used for control.
